Mayhem 19 September Gaming Event => Post event review
| |
Mayhem 19 September 2009 Gaming event.
So there we were yet again, just a few weeks before rAge. Fairly good event, great to see some old faces as well as see the return of some of the new ones.
| | | | | Right so due to the fact that rAge was just around the corner as well as many thing happening on the same day, the event had a rather small but pleasant turn out. Thank you to all the ladies, hehehe. None the less we had loads of fun.
Seeing as it was speak like a pirate day any player who greeted a Mayhem staff member got a small discount for event entry.
September is also a Jack Daniels birthday. So we held a raffle, R10 a ticket an players stood two chances to win a bottle of Jack. The winners were acid cold and Tiny killer, well done guys. | | | PC gaming: Gun fire, utter Mayhem and confusion were the order of the day, as players wrapped their heads around natural selection. A handfull of players decided to join the regulars and learn how to play. It was loads of fun watching the new guys learn some of the tricks.
We also saw the return of Red Alert 3. What a painfully complicated game.
Titles for the day: Call of Duty 4, Warcraft 3, DOTA 5, Left for Dead, C&C 3, Dawn of War 2, Demi God, UT 2004, Starcraft, Counter Strike Source, Worms, natural selection, Red Alert 3, . | | | Console Gaming: This was a small event, some might even go as far as to call it a Wii event. Most of the console play was dominated by Wii titles, was really cool to see all the players just in and have a game through out the day.
Titles for the day: Tekken (PS2),Burn out 3(PS2), rock band (PS3), House of the dea overkill (Wii), Super mario charged strikers (Wii), Gears of War 2 (Xbox), NFS Shift (Xbox). | | | Magic the Gathering:
Yet again the players came armed with a wide range of decks to play with. Some lovely new deck ideas came out during the day. This event saw around 8 to 10 players on average playing Magic through out the day. We even had one or two new players join in. The really cool part was seeing a few of the none Magic players get interested in the game and start to learn to play. vapour and Pi_guy sat in the early hours of Sunday morning teaching a small group of players how the game works.
Board Games:
A handfull of players decided to play a game of Arkum Horror. This is an awesome board game and the players had stacks and stacks of fun playing it. |
